Sam is an experienced fire engineering consultant with over 12 years’ experience in fire engineering and he has responsibility for Joule Group’s Northern England offices in Manchester and Sheffield. He is Chartered Engineer, Chartered Physicist and Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers.
After graduating with a degree in Physics from the University of Liverpool, Sam worked for two years in London before relocating to Manchester where he has been based since. Prior to joining Joule Group in 2024 he managed the Manchester team for another fire engineering consultant.
He has experience of a wide range of projects across England and Wales but with a particular expertise in large commercial schemes such as shopping centres, residential developments, large office developments and warehouse/industrial projects.
Sam has also had extensive involvement with recladding schemes, including those funded by the Building Safety Fund, and has substantial experience in carrying out FRAEW using the PAS9980 methodology. He has undergone training to act as an expert witness and has experience in preparing fire engineering expert witness reports for disputes relating to external wall construction as well as other matters.
