King Abdullah Financial District

A mixed-use financial district in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia which consists of over 83 buildings, including 61 high-rise towers, combining residential, commercial and entertainment spaces. Joule Group provided fire life safety services to several aspects of the project, ranging from masterplanning and fire safety framework development, to fire strategy development and approvals for individual parcels, as well as computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling of atria smoke control systems within high-rise towers.

Lusail Plaza Towers

Joule Group provided fire and life safety strategy design consultancy services for two 70-storey high-rise towers, six low-rise podium buildings and associated underground carpark areas; fire and life safety plans (CAD) for Qatar Civil Defense submission for Design Check stage 2; and Computational Fluid Dynamics modelling services for the basement and podium buildings atria emergency ventilation systems.

City Tower

From the early stages of the project, Joule Group collaborated with the client, design architect and lead consultant to develop a highly engineered fire strategy that is a best fit for City Tower due to its 82-storey, 355-metre height and end user characteristics. Key design challenges included the use of lifts for evacuation and the integration of refuge floors within the tower to aid evacuation.

Kigali, Rwanda

Located in the heart of Kigali, Rwanda, the project comprises two landmark towers—one commercial office and one hotel. Joule Group provided comprehensive fire and life safety consultancy from the earliest concept design stage through to detailed design. Our expert input has been instrumental in guiding the architectural and engineering teams toward a robust, compliant, and efficient fire and life safety strategy tailored to the unique challenges of high-rise development in the region.
