48-52 York Street will be a purpose-built student accommodation development with studio-type accommodation over 10 floor levels, including ancillary student welfare facilities, undercroft space for car parking spaces, plant and bin storage. In addition, there will be three retail/commercial units at Ground Floor, accessed directly from the street. These will be shell and core retail spaces. The overall building height will be approximately 32.5m, with the height to the top occupied storey being 29.6m.

Project Delivery

To provide fire engineering services including:

  • Design validation
  • Architectural drawings reviews through the stage for compliance with life safety requirements
  • Site wide planning including fire vehicle access, performance criteria for fire water supplies, hydrants etc.
  • Team coordination through the stage to ensure the fire strategy and requirements from a life safety perspective are understood
  • Preparation of a Fire Strategy Report for Building Control approval
